Already tried GTO Wizard? The Free plan may be enough
GTO Wizard Free
If cost is the reason you are looking elsewhere, check what the Free plan covers before switching tools: up to 100 preflop solutions, 1 postflop spot and 10 Trainer hands a day, in any browser.
That is enough for a short daily routine. If you outgrow it, Starter costs $49 a month, or $39 a month billed yearly; Premium is $99 ($79) and Elite $169 ($139). Cash game and tournament plans are sold separately.
What the Free plan will not do: solve your own custom spots. On GTO Wizard, custom solving starts with Elite ($169 a month, or $139 a month billed yearly); Starter and Premium give you pre-solved spots only. Otherwise, use a desktop solver such as GTO+ or PioSOLVER.
Partner offer: create your free GTO Wizard account through our link and get 10% off your first Starter, Premium or Elite plan, monthly or annual. It does not apply to Ultra or to existing accounts; check the final price at checkout.

PokerSnowie: learn by playing against an AI
$29.90/month, or $199.90 for the first year (about $16.66/month), excl. VAT
PokerSnowie takes the opposite approach to GTO Wizard. Instead of browsing solved spots, you play complete No-Limit Hold’em hands against its AI, then review the decisions it flags. You can also import hand histories from your own sessions and have your decisions evaluated.
Strengths
- Costs less than GTO Wizard Starter for regular practice: about $16.66 a month in the first year when you pay annually (excl. VAT).
- Playing full hands keeps practice engaging, especially for beginners and recreational players.
- 10-day free trial with email signup, so you can test the method before paying.
- Desktop apps for Windows and Mac, plus an app for iPhone and iPad.
Limits
- It is not a solver library: you cannot browse pre-solved ranges for any spot the way GTO Wizard lets you.
- Decisions are evaluated in chips, so tournament hands are analysed without ICM or pay jumps.
- No Android or web version.
- After the first year, renewal is charged at the standard rate.
PokerSnowie runs on Windows, Mac and iPhone/iPad (no Android or web version).

GTO+: a $75 one-time desktop solver (Windows)
$75 once for one computer, future updates included
GTO+ is a Windows solver for heads-up postflop spots. You enter the ranges, board, stacks and bet sizes, run the calculation on your own PC, then explore the result or practise against it.
Strengths
- The lowest long-term cost for a real solver: one payment, no subscription.
- Full control over the ranges, bet sizes and tree you study.
- You can practise against your own solutions.
Limits
- Windows only: no Mac, browser or mobile version.
- You build every spot yourself, which takes time and a working knowledge of ranges.
- Heads-up postflop only: there is no ready-made preflop or ICM library.
- Bigger trees need more memory and processor power.

PioSOLVER: custom trees, Pro €450 or Edge €800 (one-time)
Pro €450 or Edge €800, perpetual licence (excl. tax)
PioSOLVER is the desktop solver for players who want to build their own studies: you set the pot, stacks, ranges, bet sizes and rake, solve the tree on your PC and explore it, including nodelocking. Pro solves from flop to river; Edge adds heads-up preflop solving and support for machines with more cores.
Strengths
- Maximum control: your own trees, bet sizes, rake and nodelocking.
- Perpetual licence with one year of updates included; you keep using your version without a subscription.
- A Free version lets you try it on example flops before buying.
Limits
- The highest upfront cost here, and the most demanding to use: building good trees is a skill in itself.
- Windows only (64-bit): 8 GB of RAM to start postflop work, 16 GB for bigger trees, and at least 64 GB for Edge’s preflop solving.
- Nothing is pre-solved: every spot you study needs setup and solving time.

ICMIZER: ICM and push/fold for tournament players
Subscription: monthly, quarterly or annual
If you mainly play MTTs or Sit & Gos and want to know when to shove or call all-in near the bubble or at a final table, ICMIZER is a specialist. You enter the stacks, payouts and actions, and it calculates ICM-adjusted preflop ranges; its Coach and Replayer add regular practice.
Strengths
- Makes the impact of pay jumps on all-in decisions concrete.
- Supports progressive knockout (PKO) tournaments.
- Free start: one ICMIZE calculation a day after creating an account, plus a seven-day trial of a paid plan.
Limits
- Preflop only: the calculator does not cover postflop play.
- The paid trial turns into a subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
- Built for tournaments: little use for cash game study.

For postflop tournament spots, GTO Wizard’s Tournament Premium plan includes the MTT, ICM and PKO library (unlimited heads-up chipEV postflop, plus 1 ICM postflop spot a day), and you can start on the Free plan. See the Free plan
GrindLab: browser hand review (not a solver)
Free plan · Grinder €11.75/month or €9.17/month billed yearly (public price, excl. tax)
GrindLab is not a solver, but it covers one thing some players use GTO Wizard for: going back over a hand after a session. In its browser Lab you refine the ranges, check combos and equity, and share the hand.
Strengths
- Free plan: a desktop tracker for Windows and macOS (up to 10,000 hands), an equity calculator and hand sharing.
- The Lab runs in the browser on computers and mobile devices.
Limits
- No solver strategies: it shows ranges and equity, not GTO frequencies.
- Verdict + EV on each decision, multiway, rake and bounty analysis, and importing hands into the Lab need the paid Grinder plan.
- On the Free plan, the tracker stops collecting new hands after 10,000.
